These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the services provided by First Light Cleaners LLC ("First Light Cleaners," "we," "us," or "our") to you ("you" or "the customer"), as well as your use of our website.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By using our services or our website — including booking an appointment, or calling, texting, emailing, or submitting a form on our website — you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms or our Privacy Policy, please do not use our services or our website; choosing to decline means choosing not to use our services. If a separate written agreement or service contract is signed by both parties, that contract controls where it conflicts with these Terms.
2. Services We Provide
We provide residential and commercial window cleaning, gutter cleaning, hard water stain removal, window screen cleaning, and related exterior cleaning services in Lincoln, NE and surrounding areas. The specific work to be performed is described in your quote or estimate.
3. Quotes and Estimates
Quotes are based on the information you provide and, where applicable, an in-person assessment. If actual conditions differ from what was described (for example, additional windows, height, access challenges, or severe staining), we may adjust the price and will discuss any change with you before proceeding. Quotes are valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise.
4. Scheduling, Rescheduling, and Cancellations
We will schedule service at a mutually agreed date and time. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please give us at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations or reschedules made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a fee of up to 50% of the scheduled service price. We may reschedule for weather or safety reasons, as described below.
5. Recurring and Maintenance Plans
Some customers schedule service on a recurring basis (for example, quarterly or twice a year). If you sign up for recurring service, we will confirm each visit with you in advance, and you may cancel future visits at any time by giving us at least 24 hours' notice before the next scheduled cleaning. Pricing for recurring service may change over time; we will let you know of any price change before your next visit. A recurring schedule is a convenience, not a long-term contract, and either party may end it at any time.
6. Weather and the 48-Hour Rain Guarantee
Nebraska weather is unpredictable. We may reschedule exterior work when conditions are unsafe or would affect quality (for example, rain, ice, or high wind). We stand behind our exterior window cleaning with a 48-Hour Rain Guarantee: if rain spots your exterior windows within 48 hours of service, notify us and we will return to touch up the affected exterior glass at no additional cost. The guarantee covers exterior glass only and does not apply to gutter cleaning or interior work.
7. Satisfaction Guarantee
If you are not satisfied with our work, notify us within 24 hours and we will return to re-clean the specific area to meet our standard. The satisfaction guarantee is limited to re-cleaning the affected area, except as described in Section 13.
8. Property Access and Customer Preparation
To perform the work safely and on schedule, please provide clear access to all areas to be cleaned, unlock gates, secure pets, and move fragile or valuable items away from work areas. For interior cleaning, an adult (18+) must be present. If we arrive and can't reach the property or the agreed areas, our first step is always to contact you and reschedule at no cost. A fee of up to 10% of the service price applies only as a last resort, when a genuine lockout or wasted trip leaves us unable to do the work after we've made a reasonable effort to reach you.
9. Safety and Service Limitations
The safety of our team and your property comes first. Our technicians do not lift items over 35 lbs, do not service above two stories, and do not clean areas with biological or other hazards (such as mold, animal waste, or pest infestation). Whether a job can be completed safely is left to the cleaner's discretion, and we reserve the right to decline or stop any work we determine to be unsafe.
10. Pre-Existing Conditions and Limitation of Liability
Dirt often hides pre-existing scratches, hard water etching, failed seals, or other imperfections. When dirt is removed, those existing conditions may become visible. Older or painted-over windows, aged or brittle screens, weathered frames, and failed seals can become damaged during normal, careful cleaning despite our best efforts; we are not responsible for the failure of components that were already worn, brittle, or improperly installed, and we may decline to clean any window, screen, or fixture that, in our judgment, appears too fragile or unsafe to service. First Light Cleaners LLC is not responsible for pre-existing damage, scratches (including scratches on tempered or coated glass), defective or improperly installed windows, screens, or fixtures, or for damage that results from conditions outside our control. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid for the service in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Insurance
First Light Cleaners LLC carries general liability insurance. A Certificate of Insurance is available on request before commercial service begins.
12. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of service unless other terms are agreed in writing. We accept cash, check, major credit cards, and ACH. We do not store card or banking information; card and electronic payments are processed through secure, PCI-DSS-compliant third-party tools (such as Square or QuickBooks).
Invoices not paid within 15 days of the service date may be subject to a late charge of 1.5% per month, or the maximum rate permitted by Nebraska law, whichever is less. Returned or declined payments are subject to a $35 fee. If collection becomes necessary, you agree to reimburse our reasonable costs of collection, including attorney's fees, to the extent permitted by law.
13. Refunds and Re-Service
If something isn't right, we always come back and re-clean the affected area at no charge first. If a re-clean isn't the right fix, we'll make it right, up to a partial or full refund. We'll work out the best solution with you directly.
14. Photography and Marketing
We may photograph completed work for quality, training, and marketing purposes. We will not publish images that identify your address or interior without your permission. If you prefer that we not photograph your property, let us know before service.
15. Referral Program
When you refer a new customer who completes a paid service, you receive 15% off your next scheduled cleaning. The credit applies to one cleaning and must be used within 9 months of the referred customer's completed service.
16. Communications and Text Messaging
By giving us your phone number or email, you agree that we may contact you by phone, text message, and email about scheduling, service, quotes, and your account. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, and you can ask us to stop sending marketing messages at any time. Agreeing to receive marketing messages is not a condition of using our services.
17. Confidentiality
When we provide commercial service, our team may have access to your premises and to non-public information about your business. We treat that information as confidential and use it only to perform the work you've requested.
18. Subcontractors and Helpers
We may use qualified employees, helpers, or subcontractors to perform all or part of the work. We remain responsible for the quality of the service performed under these Terms.
19. Indemnification
For commercial services, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless First Light Cleaners LLC from claims, damages, or expenses arising out of conditions on your property that you failed to disclose, inaccurate information you provided, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our own negligence or misconduct.
20. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a sale or transfer of our business.
21. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including weather, natural disasters, utility or supply failures, or government action.
22. Severability and Waiver
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will stay in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
23. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or county courts located in Lancaster County, Nebraska.
24. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is posted on this page and applies to services booked after it is posted.
