Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about pricing, scheduling, guarantees, and how we work.
Pricing & Scheduling
Window cleaning in Lincoln is priced per job, not per hour. It depends on your window count, number of stories, and whether you want interior, exterior, or both. We give you a clear flat quote up front, free. Call (402) 413-9648 or request a quote online.
Yes. We clean nearly all year, with spring and fall as our busiest seasons. During freezing winter stretches we may reschedule exterior work for safety or focus on interior cleaning.
Fill out our online quote form, call, or text (402) 413-9648. We typically reply within 24 hours with a clear, no-pressure quote.
Service & Process
For exterior-only work, no, as long as we can reach the backyard through unlocked gates. For interior cleaning, we need an adult (18+) present to let us in and secure pets.
Standard glass cleaning always includes a basic seal and frame wipe. Full screen cleaning and deep track detailing are available as add-ons. Just ask and we'll include them in your quote.
Yes, but it's a separate restoration service, not part of a standard clean. Hard water bonds calcium to the glass, and we use specialized compounds to dissolve it. We assess in person first to confirm the glass can be restored.
Guarantees & Payment
If rain spots your exterior windows within 48 hours of our service, tell us and we'll come back and touch up the affected glass for free. Nebraska weather is unpredictable, so we take that risk off you.
Yes. First Light Cleaners carries full liability insurance that protects both your property and our technicians. We're happy to provide proof of insurance on request.
Payment is due on completion. We accept cash, check, credit card, and ACH, and can email an invoice with a pay-online link.
Residential Window Cleaning
Service pagePricing depends on your window count, number of stories, and whether you want interior, exterior, or both. We give you a clear flat quote up front, with no hourly surprises. Request a free quote or call (402) 413-9648.
Twice a year suits most Lincoln homes: once in spring and once in fall, to clear winter grime and summer pollen. Homes near busy roads, construction, or heavy trees may want quarterly cleaning.
Yes. You can book exterior-only, interior-only, or both. Exterior-only jobs don't require you to be home as long as we can reach the yard. Interior cleaning needs an adult (18+) present.
Commercial Window Cleaning
Service pageYes. We carry full general liability insurance for commercial work and provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) to your facility or insurance contact before service begins.
We invoice per visit by default, payable by credit card, check, or ACH. High-frequency accounts can switch to a consolidated monthly invoice.
Most Lincoln retail and restaurant frontages look best on a weekly or bi-weekly route. Offices often do monthly. We'll recommend a cadence based on foot traffic and how fast your glass shows it.
Gutter Cleaning
Service pageTwice a year for most Lincoln homes: late spring and late fall. Cottonwood in May and June and leaf drop in October and November cause the worst clogs. Homes with mature trees may need a third cleaning.
Nebraska's freeze-thaw winters turn clogged gutters into ice dams, and overflowing water pools against your foundation. Clearing them is one of the cheapest ways to prevent costly water and foundation damage.
No. Gutter cleaning is exterior work. As long as we can reach the yard through unlocked gates, you don't need to be home.
Hard Water Removal
Service pageUsually, yes. If the minerals sit on top of the glass, our compounds dissolve and lift them. If hard water has sat for years and etched into the glass, some haze can remain, so we test a spot first and tell you honestly what to expect.
No. It's a separate restoration service that takes more time and materials than a standard clean, so it's quoted separately after an assessment.
Nebraska's water is high in calcium and magnesium. Sprinkler overspray, rain runoff, and irrigation leave those minerals on the glass, where they dry and bond into the stubborn white spots standard cleaning can't remove.
Window Screen Cleaning
Service pageDirty screens undo a clean window. When it rains, water hits the dirt on the screen and splatters mud back onto the glass. Clean screens also improve airflow and your view, and reduce pollen coming inside.
We can, but most customers add screen cleaning to a residential window cleaning so the glass and screen are done in one visit.
Water Fed Pole Window Cleaning
Service pageIt's the professional method for cleaning high exterior windows from the ground: purified water is pumped up a telescopic pole to a soft brush that scrubs the glass, and the pure-water rinse dries spot-free. It replaces ladder work on anything above two stories.
Yes. Water spots are the minerals dissolved in ordinary tap water, left behind as it dries. Our system removes those minerals first, so when the rinse dries there's nothing on the glass to see.
For exterior glass, yes — it's the right tool for windows above two stories, where ladder work is slower and riskier. Up to two stories we still squeegee by hand; above that, the pole system delivers the same streak-free result safely from the ground.
Yard Clean Up
Service pageYes — post-storm clean up is one of the most common reasons people call. After Nebraska wind, hail, or ice storms we pick up downed branches, scattered sticks, and blown-in debris and haul it away, so the yard is safe and mowable again. One honest limit: we take branches we can lift and load — no tree cutting or chainsaw work.
Light items we can safely lift and load — old fence boards, bagged yard waste, leftover lumber, a broken lawn chair. It doesn't cover appliances, hazardous materials, or full cleanouts. Not sure? Send a photo with your quote request and we'll tell you straight.
Yes. Fall leaf clean up before the snow and a spring pickup of winter's sticks are the most popular, and one-time jobs are just as welcome.
Solar Panel Cleaning
Service pageYes. Dust, pollen, and droppings block light before it reaches the cells, and output drops with it. How much depends on how dirty the array is — a visibly filmed or bird-soiled panel is leaving energy on the table. Cleaning removes exactly what's blocking the light.
With purified water and a soft brush — the same gentle, mineral-free method we use on high windows. No harsh chemicals, no pressure washing, no abrasive pads. The purified rinse dries without spots.
Yes — commercial systems are our primary focus, and we clean residential rooftop panels too. Tell us the array size and where it sits, and we'll come back with a clear flat quote.
